How to tell the difference between acidotic crisis and something more serious?

So I've read about acidotic crisis, and I know that it's a pretty normal process when fasting. But the symptoms of acidotic crisis seem to be very similar to a few other, more serious conditions.

So, how exactly do I tell if my symptoms are "normal" or if they're a sign of something possibly dangerous, like electrolyte imbalance?

I'm doing a five-day fast, but yesterday I had to cheat and take a spoonful of honey and one of those fizzy vitamin/mineral tablets diluted to a 250ml glass of water, because even though I felt otherwise fine, I was super paranoid and scared that I wouldn't wake up this morning.
